Rustic Wedding at Stanlake Vineyard Estate
Rustic Stanlake Park Twyford Reading Wedding Venue for Harriet & Spencer
Nestled in the heart of the Berkshire countryside near Twyford, Stanlake Park is a breathtaking 15th-century estate steeped in history and rustic charm. With its deep Tudor English roots, the Leighton family once owned this remarkable wedding venue before being transformed into a stunning vineyard in 1979, now home to over 500 flourishing vines. Stanlake Park offers couples a picturesque and versatile backdrop for a rustic wedding, blending timeless elegance with countryside beauty.
When they first contacted me, Harriet and Spencer’s journey to their special day began in 2020. Their initial photographer had become double-booked, leaving them to rethink their plans. Initially, they envisioned celebrating their wedding at Bisham Abbey. Still, due to the unforeseen events of that year, they rescheduled and chose the enchanting Stanlake Park Estate as the new venue for their October 2022 celebration. And all I can say is – WOW! Their decision to embrace the rustic beauty of Stanlake Park made for an unforgettable rustic wedding that I was honoured to capture.
Stanlake Park’s historic vineyard, charming barns, and stunning walled gardens make it a dream location for couples seeking a rustic wedding. The venue’s blend of rustic sophistication and timeless romance provided the perfect setting for Harriet and Spencer’s celebration. Their day began with Harriet preparing in the elegant Bridal Room, filled with natural light and serene countryside views. The venue’s thoughtfully restored barns, with their exposed wooden beams and warm, earthy tones, added a rustic elegance that beautifully complemented the couple’s vision.
Spencer and his groomsmen prepared in the Coach House, a cosy, character-filled space that reflected the venue’s rich history. Stanlake Park’s rustic charm was evident in every detail, from the traditional brickwork to the expansive vineyards surrounding the estate.
The couple exchanged their vows in the stunning Vineyard Barn, a space brimming with rustic beauty and romantic ambience. The barn created an intimate and heartfelt atmosphere with its soaring wooden beams, soft candlelight, and picturesque views of the surrounding vineyard. Harriet and Spencer’s personalised vows brought tears and laughter, a testament to their deep connection.
As a photographer, I enjoy capturing the essence of a rustic wedding like this one. The golden autumn light streaming through the barn’s windows added a magical glow to the ceremony, enhancing the emotion and beauty of the moment.
Harriet and Spencer’s rustic wedding theme carried through every detail of their day. From the earthy floral arrangements featuring dried blooms and greenery to the wooden signage and vintage-inspired décor, their personal touches brought warmth and charm to the celebration. The reception in the Coach House Barn featured long wooden tables adorned with soft linen runners and candlelit centrepieces, creating an inviting and cosy atmosphere.
The couple’s decision to embrace a rustic wedding aesthetic was further reflected in their wedding cake, which was semi-naked and adorned with fresh flowers and berries. Their guests enjoyed locally sourced food and wine from Stanlake Park’s vineyard, adding to their celebration’s unique and rustic charm.
As the sun set over Stanlake Park, Harriet and Spencer took a quiet moment together in the vineyard. These intimate portraits, surrounded by rows of flourishing vines and golden light, perfectly encapsulated the essence of their rustic wedding.
Later, the couple danced beneath the barn’s twinkling fairy lights, surrounded by their loved ones. The joy and love in the room were palpable, and every photograph I captured reflected the warmth and connection that defined their special day.
Harriet and Spencer’s wedding at Stanlake Park was a celebration of their love and a testament to the beauty of a rustic wedding. The venue’s timeless charm and thoughtful details created a day that will be cherished by all who attended.
If you envision a rustic wedding that blends historic elegance with countryside charm, Stanlake Park is a unique venue. It was a privilege to capture Harriet and Spencer’s love story, and I would be honoured to do the same for you. Let’s create timeless memories that reflect the beauty of your special day.

Message from Harriet & Spencer…
Where do we even begin… We waited for our wedding for over two years due to COVID, and our day was magical. I met Natalie at a wedding fair, and though we saw several photographers, her work truly stood out. Her photos are beautiful, timeless, and incredibly natural. She was so kind, so friendly, and we knew she’d capture our wedding day perfectly.
Throughout a difficult period, Natalie was flexible, allowing us to reschedule twice. She was incredibly supportive, taking away so much stress on our big day. Before the wedding, we completed a document listing the shots we wanted, and this was invaluable; Natalie organized everyone beautifully, ensuring those perfect moments were captured. The many natural photos she took are ones we’ll cherish forever.
Our photos have far exceeded our expectations, and it’s been nearly impossible to choose favourites for the album because there are so many incredible shots! Natalie has been kind and considerate, and we couldn’t recommend her more highly. Thank you, Natalie, for capturing memories we’ll treasure for a lifetime
