Luxury Wedding at Ashridge House
Amy & Matt’s Luxury Wedding at Ashridge House
A luxury wedding at Ashridge House is nothing short of magical, and Amy and Matt’s wedding was a spectacular display of grandeur and elegance. This was their second wedding at this magnificent luxury wedding venue. Their first celebration was held under COVID restrictions, allowing only a limited number of guests. So, in May 2023, they finally had the opportunity to celebrate their wedding with all their friends and family, and what a splendid display it was.
Being part of their journey for the second time made it feel as though I was photographing a friend’s wedding. This time, their little boy, just 11 months old, joined in on the celebrations. He was an absolute cutie but slightly overwhelmed by the big party while mummy and daddy enjoyed themselves. It was heartwarming to see and reconnect with the family once again.
A Luxury Wedding Venue Beyond Compare
Ashridge House is the epitome of a luxury wedding venue, offering majestic settings and breathtaking architecture. Amy chose a stunning gown by Joyce Young, perfectly complementing Matt’s refined Hackett London suit. The talented Camilla J Collins worked magic to give Amy a naturally elegant bridal look again. The floral arrangements by Ivy Amelia Florals and the exquisite cake by Lindsay Pemberton added to the stunning decor of this extraordinary luxury wedding.
Here are a few of Amy & Matt’s highlights for the day. Find more at Ashridge House Weddings here
A Day of Elegance and Celebration
The couple decided to have their wedding ceremony outside, and although the temperature soared to over 80 degrees, the setting was nothing short of spectacular. The terrace arch was adorned with beautiful, aromatic roses, creating a dreamy atmosphere. Stewart, the Celebrant, was charismatic and humorous and led the ceremony, adding a unique touch to the day. I highly recommend him to any couple looking for a celebrant with personality and charm.
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed refreshing drinks and canapés by the water fountain—a much-needed escape from the heat. The couple wanted only a few group photos, which were effortless and fun. We then explored the magnificent grounds and gardens of Ashridge House for their couple’s portraits. The estate was in full bloom, with vibrant rhododendrons, Laburnum Anagyroides known as Golden Chain Tree and stunning roses in hidden gardens. The grandeur of the long avenue leading from the house provided the perfect backdrop for their luxury wedding portraits.
A Reception Fit for Royalty
Amy and Matt entered Lady Marian Alford’s Room for their reception, and they were greeted with an undeniable WOW factor. The grand doors revealed exquisite table centrepieces and floral displays created by the incredibly talented Ivy Amelia Florals. The opulence of the décor and the majestic setting of this luxury wedding venue left everyone in awe.
During the reception, I always step back from photographing during mealtime to allow guests to enjoy their intimate moments. However, for couples considering entertainment, I highly recommend scheduling singing waiters at the beginning or end of the meal so it does not disrupt the dining experience.
A Spectacular Evening Celebration
With such a warm day, we were treated to a breathtaking sunset, creating the perfect golden-hour portraits of Amy and Matt. The couple made a grand entrance for their cake cutting, descending the grand staircase before making their way to the stunning cake by Lindsay Pemberton.

3 Reasons Why Ashridge House is a Spectacular Wedding Venue
Unmatched Grandeur – The combination of Italianate, Art Deco, and neo-Gothic architecture creates an awe-inspiring setting that feels genuinely regal
Versatile Wedding Spaces – Whether you choose the Monks’ Barn, The Chapel, The Fernery Loggia, the Outdoor Terrace, or the Grand Reception Hall, each setting is breathtaking in its own right.
A Photographer’s Dream – The vast gardens, hidden floral retreats, and stunning historical interiors provide endless opportunities for capturing stunning wedding portraits.
Luxury Packages and Flexibility
Ashridge House offers customisable packages, like the Luxury package Amy & Matt chose. They chose a Luxury Wedding Package that includes a second photographer for comprehensive coverage of their day.
Evening Dance Floor at Ashridge House
The celebration continued with an electrifying party. Instead of a traditional confetti toss, Amy and Matt opted for indoor confetti cannons during their first dance, igniting an unforgettable moment that led all their guests onto the dance floor. No wedding at Ashridge House is complete without the historic photo of the couple standing beneath the grand balcony, framed by the venue’s impressive neo-Gothic architecture.

Message from Amy & Matt…
I cannot recommend Natalie highly enough for going the extra mile to create a gorgeous album that captured our day so perfectly (even the bits we didn’t notice at the time!) She put a lot of effort into researching how to light our venue, and it really shows in the photos. She is also really friendly, and was fantastic at putting us at ease in front of the camera, which is no mean feat!
